ASUS announces Chromebox 4 with the latest Intel processor |
The Taiwanese company Asustek announced, Thursday, its new device (Chromebox 4), a small computer running Chrome OS from the American company Google.
In terms of appearance, the Chromebox 4 is similar to its predecessor Chromebox 3 in that it is all black with the (Asus) logo in the center and the (Chrome) logo in the upper left corner. Both devices are the same size and the same length and width of 5.85 inches and a depth of 1.58 inches.
However, Asus has made changes to the device, that is, the new device includes a 10th generation Intel processor, and its predecessor, Chromebox 3, includes an 8th generation Intel processor. The company said that the new processor will provide "faster, smoother and more energy efficient" performance.
The new Chromebox 4 contains Intel Celeron 5205U, Intel Core i3-10110U, Intel Core i5-10210U, or Intel Core i7-10510U processors.
As with the other specifications, the computer offers 4 GB or 8 GB of DDR4 RAM and an M.2 SATA SSD with a capacity of 256 GB.
The new ASUS computer has multiple ports including an HDMI 2.0 port, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port and a USB port. 3.2 Gen 2) USB 3.2 Gen 2 can support up to three 4K displays at the same time. The device supports connecting to Wi-Fi 6 networks.
Like other Chrome OS devices, the new Chromebox 4 supports downloading Android apps from the Google Play Store.
Chromebox 4 will be available from December in North America, starting at $ 289.
