Apple faces a new lawsuit against the popular Cydia store

In the past, the developer of one of the most popular app stores took legal action against Apple and accused Apple of monopolizing the illegal distribution of software on its iOS.

Cydia Store Builder, Founded in 2008: Apple has unlawfully removed all competitors in favor of the App Store, depriving consumers of choosing where to get iOS apps and denying developers the choice of what reseller they like.

The lawsuit, filed in Oakland, California, is the latest case that accuses Apple of using its market power at the expense of competitors such as Cydia, who said Apple is close to shutting down and could even go bankrupt.

Apple, based in Cupertino, California, said in an email that it will reconsider the lawsuit and will not have a monopoly in any market. She also said, for security reasons, this is a process to prevent consumers from jailbreaking their iPhones and installing software from third-party stores.

Note that iOS's main competitor is Google's Android. Most of the smartphones and tablets available in the market use Google's Android system. These companies come from Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus, and many more. Other companies.

Cydia (also known as SaurikIT) was developed by software developer Jay Freeman and is now seeking unspecified compensation. Freeman (Freeman) represented law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan on behalf of Samsung in a lawsuit against Apple.

Apple is facing several lawsuits due to its monopoly. Fortnite Epic Games, the famous game developer, filed a lawsuit against Apple last August.

Epic accused Apple of illegally removing the game (Fortnite) from the App Store because Epic wanted to use its payment system instead of charging Apple 30% of the purchase commission. The case could be brought to trial in May 2021.

Apple said last month that developers whose app sales don't exceed $ 1 million will have their commissions cut by 30% to 15%.
