Tech companies added $ 3.4 trillion in 2020

Given the global spread of the epidemic and the overall economic crisis, the seven most valuable technology companies in the United States - Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, Facebook, Tesla, and Nvidia - increased their market value by $ 3.4 trillion in 2020. One successful year ended.

Between continued optimism about iPhone sales, Microsoft's growing collaboration products, Amazon's continued control of e-commerce, and Facebook and Google's monopoly on online advertising and technology companies have seen their growth due to the coronavirus do not slow down. Nor has it increasingly explored its dominance.

Tesla is the biggest surprise, as its share price has increased nearly nine times this year and the market value of electric vehicle makers has risen from $ 76 billion at the start of the year to $ 669 billion.

Despite factories shutting down due to the outbreak, Tesla managed to deliver a record number of vehicles in the third quarter and became the largest increase in S&P 500 in history in December 2020.

Meanwhile, chip maker Nvidia's market value doubled in 2020 to $ 323 billion.

NVIDIA game graphics processors are selling so fast that the company is struggling to keep up.

Nvidia chips are also gaining attention due to data centers. The use of data centers continues to increase and requires higher speeds. In September, the company agreed to acquire Arm, the portable chip manufacturer, from SoftBank for $ 40 billion.

The largest increase in market value is Apple, which has a market value of more than $ 1 trillion thanks to an 81% increase in its share.

Amazon, which has benefited from the growth of consumer business and cloud computing, is up $ 710 billion.

Microsoft raised $ 480 billion, Alphabet $ 268 billion, and Facebook $ 193 billion.

Income is clearly reflected in the ranks of the rich. Amazon (Jeff Bezos) is the richest person in the world, followed by Tesla (Elon Musk), Microsoft (Bill Gates) and Facebook (Mark Zuckerberg).

Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin and former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer are also in the top ten.
