Audi unveils the e-tron GT with Porsche technology

Audi launched the Audi e-tron GT quattro and its high-performance sister, the Audi RS e-tron GT. These are the flagships of the German carmaker's growing electric vehicle portfolio and its first export of crossovers and SUVs to date. to the top.

After the e-tron SUV and e-tron Sportback debuted in 2019, the GT and RS are the third and fourth all-electric cars in the US company's product portfolio.

All e-tron models are part of ADO's plan, which plans to introduce more than 30 plug-in and plug-in hybrid vehicles by 2025.

The GT will go into production this spring and will be available on the US market this summer. Sports offer also includes many performance and luxury features.

The base GT racing car has two engines, which increase the output of 469 hp or 522 hp. With a battery of 93.4 kW and a range of 480 km, it can travel 385 km.

The RS has the same front engine as the GT, but a more powerful rear: the two engines together can produce 590 hp with a maximum power of 637 hp.

This enables the RS to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.1 seconds, with a top speed of 205 km / h and a range of 375 km.

The car also has 800-volt electrical technology, similar to that of the Porsche Taycan.

This architecture allows GT vehicles like the Taycan to regenerate the battery from 5% to 80% in 22.5 minutes. This is one of the fastest download speeds in the industry.

GT and Porsche jointly engineer the electrical of over 800 V. Two Volkswagen Group companies, Audi and Porsche, have developed the GT and the Taycan, which also have the same chassis and the same J1 EV battery platform.

Each of the E-Tron GTs is equipped with two screens - a digital instrument panel for the virtual cockpit (12.3 in) and one for the center cabin (10.1 in) - which are supported by the latest version of the Audi infotainment system. The system saves energy.

That means there's an LTE Advanced chip in the car for wireless connectivity, here Maps Navigation, a companion smartphone app to control door locks and other functions, CarPlay and Android Auto.

The driver can control music, navigation, and other controls, as well as EV-specific functions such as searching for charging stations. Vehicle owners can also upgrade and add a windshield display.

The vehicle comes as standard with a leather-free interior that uses recyclable materials, including a synthetic suede called Dynamica. The nappa leather option is also available as an upgrade option.

The e-tron GT quattro starts at $ 9,900, while the RS e-tron GT starts at $ 139,900.

If additional features are identified, notably Audi LED array headlights that have a complex reflector system that can influence these price increases in certain ways, they will only be available in Europe.

There is also an optional display to display information about the windshield and an optional Bang & Olufsen audio system.

The price rises depending on the integrated wheels or whether the buyer has opted for a carbon-fiber reinforced roof for the standard glass option, and acoustic glass on the side and rear windows and massage seats.
