TikTok competes with Facebook for e-commerce

TikTok plans to face direct competition with the US giant Facebook to develop e-commerce on a large scale in the United States.

This Chinese video app will bring many new features to advertisers in 2021, such as: b. A tool that allows users on the most popular platforms to share product links and automatically earn commissions on all sales.

Creators don't necessarily have to link to the brand itself, but they can link to whatever product they like.

According to a British Financial Times report, TikTok, a subsidiary of the Chinese company ByteDance, wants to enable brands to display their product listings on the platform.

The app is also said to initiate real-time purchases, which is a mobile version of the TV shopping channel. Users can purchase products with just a few clicks after seeing the products featured by TikTok stars.

This came after the announcement of the direct purchase feature with Walmart late last year.

TikTok appears to be on the verge of abandoning the desktop experience and moving straight to e-commerce.

These tools allow TikTok, which has announced a partnership with the e-commerce platform Shopify, to compete directly with Facebook.

In the past year, Facebook introduced tools that make it easy for people to purchase products through the Instagram photo sharing app in some countries / regions and digital shopping channels via the main Facebook site.

At the same time, Instagram launched Reels, a TikTok feed drop-down version.

The current advertising system is still under development. An advertising agency manager said: Products and content have not yet reached the level that advertisers want.

The platform plans to develop its advertising platform this year so that brands can easily display their ads online without the need to make manual calls to sellers to target their main competitors.

It also aims to improve ad targeting tools, including user tracking.

Last week, TikTok announced its first major deal with advertising agency WPP that would allow the London-based agency to use its latest TikTok ad product as quickly as possible.

The move worries about highly competitive social media platforms, as the biggest appeal of TikTok is that its young, sometimes backward, users attract large audiences.
