Intel announces 11th generation processors

After a quick preview at CES, Intel has officially announced all the details about its next 11th generation Rocket Lake desktop processor.

The team ranks first in the Core i9-11900K chip with 8 cores and 16 threads, an improved speed of 5.3GHz, support for 3200MHz DDR4 memory, a total of 20 PCIe 4.0 channels and compatibility with the Intel 400 chipset.

Ostensibly, the new chip slipped off the top of the Core i9-10900K chip last year, which offers 10 cores, 20 lines, and a similar speed increase of 5.3 GHz.

In fact, for the first time in the past five years, Intel introduced an 11th generation Rocket Lake chip called Cypress Cove and introduced a new basic desktop architecture for the first time.

Cypress Cove's infrastructure has replaced the infrastructure previously known as Skylake, which the company has been using since its sixth generation of chips in 2015.

However, Cypress is not a new infrastructure, but rather Intel's Willow Cove chip design and technology, which Intel is using in its eleventh-generation Tiger Lake chips.

Since these designs are intended for use in 10nm chips, Intel is limited in the number of cores, and Intel continues: Newer chips provide better performance than the 10th generation.
