Acer enters the world of flash memory and storage

Acer announced in its blog that it will enter the flash memory and storage business with the help of a Chinese manufacturer called Biwin.

These products leverage Biwin's manufacturing capabilities and global awareness of the Acer brand to provide business and home users the most advanced memory and storage solutions.

The flash drive is Acer branded but manufactured by a different company.

Although you can see the Acer logo on the hard drive, Biwin is the one who manages the warranty for these products.

Acer isn't the only big company to use Biwin devices.

Portable drive and storage manufacturers also offer HP-branded products, including 2.5-inch USB flash drives, NVMe, SATA, and RAM.

The new partnership aims to bring products under the Acer brand initially to the United States, China, Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom.

The new Acer SSD Series offers 2.5 '' SATA, M.2 SATA, and M.2 PCIe NVMe drives.

Acer and Biwin used a 2.5-inch SATA SSD called SA100 with a version up to 1.92TB and a speed of 560MB / s.

The RE100 is equipped with a 2.5-inch or M.2 SATA SSD, each configurable up to 4 TB with read and write speeds of 560MB / s and 520MB / s, respectively.

The FA100 M.2 PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD has a capacity of up to 2TB and read and write speeds of 3300MB / s and 2700MB / s, respectively.

The partnership has also produced a variety of RAM for laptops and desktop computers with capacities ranging from 4GB to 32GB per unit and speeds up to 3600MHz.

All these RAM products will be marked "soon" on the Acer website.
