The foldable Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a slightly smaller screen than the previous foldable model and less battery capacity, and is expected to hit the market in July with the new Galaxy Z Flip.

With the exception of the screen, the battery has the largest size for smartphones and is closely related to the thickness, size and weight of the product.

The latest report from the Korean site Elec indicated that the main internal screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is 7.5 inches and the external screen is 6.2 inches, which means that the screen is nearly the size of the Galaxy Z Fold. Both internal screens are 7.6 inches, and the screen size is 6.2 inches.

The report added that these screen sizes have the added benefit of not having bezels and that there are virtually no bezels top and bottom.

This means that the next foldable phone may appear slightly smaller for the same screen size as the actual structure of the phone may become smaller.

Compared to the 4,500 mAh Galaxy Z Fold 2 battery, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a slightly smaller 4,380 mAh battery, which is 3% less.

The reduction means that the next phone will come with a battery similar to the original Galaxy Z Fold, which is the first foldable phone released in 2019.

Other rumors of upcoming foldable phones include the option to support the S Pen, such as the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which received stylus support earlier this year.

With the Galaxy Z Fold 3, when Samsung tries to integrate the stylus directly into the phone instead of using a case like the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the stylus can present other challenges as well.

The pen slot can take up space and can be filled with extra battery capacity, or it can be pulled out completely to make the phone thinner.

The upcoming new phones could help Samsung compete with newcomers like Huawei Mate X2 and Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold as they both use a similar foldable design but are thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
