Sony admits it has erred about the PS3 and PS Vita stores

Sony changed its previous decision to close the PlayStation Store on the PS3 and PS Vita platforms this summer.

In March of this year, Sony announced that it would officially close the PlayStation Store on the PS3 platform on July 2nd and close the PS Vita Store on August 27th.

The shutdown decision means you will no longer be able to purchase digital copies of the games or DLC for the PS3 and PS Vita.

However, with the new system, users can continue to purchase games through digital storefronts for these gaming platforms for the foreseeable future.

However, the company will close the PSP Store on July 2nd. After that, you can still download any PSP games you have already purchased.

Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, wrote on a blog that after taking a closer look at the planned shutdown plans for the PS3 and Vita, it's clear that we've made the wrong decision here. I am glad to say that we will continue to run the PlayStation Store, which is suitable for both PS3 and PS Vita.

Ryan said: Sony made the above decision for a number of reasons including the ability to focus more on the platforms most users currently play with, such as: B. PS4 and PS5. He also highlighted the traditional system in terms of trade support. a challenge.

Ryan added: We can now see that a lot of people are excited to continue buying the classic games on PS3 and PS Vita for the foreseeable future. I am very happy that we can find a solution to continue operations.

Several fans rejected the decision to close the PlayStation Store via the PS3 and PS Vita.

Many PS3 or PS Vita games won't play on PS4 or PS5 unless they're reposted to PlayStation Now or via PS4.

This causes people to worry that many games will not be available for purchase when the store closes.

Sony's move also surprised the PS Vita developers, who were keen to finish the game's release before closing the store or abandoning the project altogether.
