Several editions of Windows 10 have discontinued the service

Microsoft has informed customers that several versions of Windows 10 (versions 1803, 1809, and 1909) have been discontinued.

Windows 10 Ultimate devices will no longer receive technical support, monthly bug fixes, and security to protect them from newly discovered security threats.

Although Microsoft generally recommends that users of discontinued products update to the latest available version as quickly as possible to keep their systems secure, the company usually releases feature updates for older devices, including services that are about to be canceled.

Microsoft said: Windows Update will automatically start updating existing Windows 10 consumer devices and unmanaged business devices a few months after service end.

She added: For these devices, you can choose the appropriate time to restart the device and complete the update.

Windows 10 versions 1909 Home Edition, Professional Edition, Professional Education Edition, and Pro for Workstations, as well as all editions of Windows Server version 1909, have been discontinued.

After Microsoft delayed them due to the coronavirus pandemic, some OS versions (versions 1803 and 1809) also stopped working on May 11, 2021.

The list of service releases that have been discontinued this month includes:

  •     Windows 10 version 1909: Home, Professional, Workstation Professional, Education Professional, and all Windows Server 1909 editions.
  •     Windows 10, version 1809: All editions except Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 and Windows 10 IoT Core Edition.
  •     Windows 10 version 1803 and Windows Server version 1803.

Microsoft has added the 2004 version of the operating system to a variety of sales channels and it will be available to everyone through Windows Update in February 2021.

Last week, the company fixed the latest compatibility issue that prevented Windows 10 PCs running Conexant or Synaptics from upgrading to version 2004 or 20H2.

Microsoft also allows a small number of customers to upgrade their systems to version 20H2, which is the most recent version released.

Microsoft increased deployment speed for 20S2 in March. Device service is about to be terminated. Users can check for updates manually and use version 1903 or later.
