Oppo launches its smart watch, Oppo Watch 2

Oppo has officially launched its Oppo Watch 2 smartwatch in China, which shares the same Apple Watch design as the company's original watch. But with the improvement of the internal structure.

The Oppo Watch 2 is touted as the direct successor to the original Oppo Watch last year and includes some notable improvements. However, potential international availability has not been reported.

The design is very familiar because it still looks a lot like the Apple Watch and has kept the square design with two buttons on the right side to access the watch menu and functions.

This watch uses the latest Snapdragon 4100 platform from Qualcomm which provides up to 16 days of battery life on a single charge in Low Power Mode.

Like the original Chinese model of the Oppo watch, the Oppo Watch 2 runs on Oppo's Android-based ColorOS operating system instead of Google Wear OS.

Last year's model was launched outside of China with Wear OS and access to the Google Play Store. However, Oppo has not yet announced any plans for a wider release.

The company can also wait until the upcoming collaboration between Google, Samsung and Wear OS 3.0 is too late as it seems difficult to update released products to the new operating system.

The Oppo Watch 2 is available in 42 and 46 mm sizes. It uses a curved OLED screen with a refresh rate of 60Hz and a density of 326 pixels per inch.

The 42mm model has a 1.75-inch screen with a resolution of 372 x 430 pixels. Although the 46mm model has a 1.91-inch screen with a resolution of 402 x 430 pixels

Both models also have an optional eSIM in addition to monitoring heart rate, sleep, and blood oxygen.

The smaller 42mm size also offers a Bluetooth-only mode for those who don't want or need LTE.

However, the most impressive spec of the smartwatch seems to be its 16-day lifespan. Despite the fact that it is accompanied by a warning from Oppo, it is necessary to use the power saving mode.

With normal use, the Oppo Watch 2 can be used for up to four days on a single charge.

The Oppo Watch 2 is now available for pre-order in China and is expected to ship on August 6.

The 42mm model, which supports Bluetooth, starts at 1,300 yen (about $200). The 42mm LTE model costs 1,500 yen (about $230). The 46mm model costs 2,000 yen (about $310).
