| Jeep announces Grand Cherokee Hybrid |
With the 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe, Jeep launched the auto industry's first-selling electric-equipped hybrid. This is the second Jeep to get an electric version after the release of last year's Wrangler 4xe hybrid in 2021.
The company also launched the Grand Cherokee All-Terrain Trailhawk that is also equipped with a hybrid engine.
It should be noted that the company has not announced an all-electric version of the Grand Cherokee, nor has it sold all-electric vehicles.
The automaker recently announced that it will bring zero-emissions versions of all vehicles, as well as hybrid versions, to market by 2025.
The all-electric Grand Cherokee 4xe has an estimated travel range of about 40 kilometers, and the total range is more than 708 kilometers.
According to the company, the plug-in hybrid drive system includes two electric motors, one in the front and one that replaces the transmission's torque converter, a 14.0 kWh battery, a 2.0-liter turbo, a four-cylinder engine and one eight-speed automatic transmission.
In general, the car's system can generate 375 hp (280 kW) and 637 Nm of torque.
The driver can adjust the performance according to the driving situation. There are three modes to choose from: Hybrid, which mixes the torque of an electric motor and a gasoline engine. There is also electricity that runs on zero-emission electricity until the battery is empty. And eSave prioritizes the motor and saves battery power for later use.
Owners can also monitor the hybrid system and power from regenerative braking from the infotainment screen.
The second hybrid model of the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe

The Grand Cherokee 4xe also has a so-called Integrated Dual Charge Module (ICDM), which integrates the battery charger and DC adapter into one, and a miniature PIM inverter. It is installed under the car and is protected by steel armor.
The company claims that its electronic devices are airtight and water-resistant. Jeep says the Grand Cherokee 4xe can drop up to 24 inches.
