Microsoft is redesigning Skype again

Microsoft has announced plans for an improved, faster, more reliable and modern Skype platform. The company said it has listened to the comments and will begin rolling out the changes in the coming months.

Although the platform has seen several redesigns in the past five years. But Microsoft is still trying to change it.

The most important part of what the company calls the communication stage is getting the most attention.

The network displayed during the call will soon include all participants in the call. It has nothing to do with the activation of the video. This will place all participants in the main interface.

The company has also added new themes and layouts for this view. It introduces some modifications to the communication interface of the main platform.

You can choose from speaker view, grid view, large gallery, setup mode, and even content view. You can choose to see only people who watch the video.

New color themes are coming soon with button gradients, improved animated side areas, and flowing design icons for the entire app.

Users of the platform without an avatar also receive a color gradient to better distinguish their chats.

However, this is not just a design change. The company said: The design changes are not enough. We need to focus on performance to make the experience enjoyable.

The company claims to have improved the performance of the Android version by more than 2,000% in key scenarios and by 30% in the desktop version of Skype.

Microsoft is also committed to supporting all browsers with future changes to the platform. The platform team said: “We believe that no matter what browser or device you use, the experience should be seamless, accessible and reliable. So we are adding support for all browsers.

“We want to make sure Skype can give you a great experience no matter what device, platform or browser you're using.”

Some of these improvements are now being used. Others will hit the market in the coming months.

One of the new instant features is custom notification tones. While the new TwinCam feature allows you to add your phone's camera to the call, it appears that it will be available later.

The company is focused on making major improvements through Skype. This is the last revision of the Foundation's platform since the modification began in 2014.
