Tik Tok is testing a new tip feature with some creators

TikTok is testing a new in-app rewards feature that will allow creators to raise money from fans outside of TikTok LIVE who support free gifts.

The company confirmed that this feature is currently under testing and has not been widely used yet.

Content creator Jira Bean discovered the feature first and posted a video showing the new options, then social media consultant Matt Navarra pointed it out on Twitter.

His video shows new features in the platform's account settings and a screen with detailed information about ordering from TikTok.

The screen shows that content creators under the restricted trial can request this feature if they have 100,000 fans or more.

Once the creator submits a request to activate the functionality, he will be notified of his approval via his account.

Certified creators will also have a reminder button on their account that their followers can use to send them direct payments.

The reminder page also indicated that the money that coin creators receive is their own money and that the platform does not deduct their commissions.

If the feature passes the testing phase, it is not clear if the platform intends to collect commissions from content creators in the future. But it seems possible.

The platform said, “We are always thinking of new ways to add value to our community and enrich the TikTok experience.” This feature is the latest feature on the monetization platform and helps content creators to make money from it.

Tik Tok hopes to help monetize creators

The company launched a $200 million fund last year to help US content makers increase their profits.

The company also helps content creators craft brand partnerships and sponsorship agreements. It also provides the ability to monetize through live streaming.

Given the focus on business monetization. The company is experimenting with a method that allows content creators to raise money directly from their subscribers, which is not surprising.

It is worth noting that Tik Tok is not the only platform hoping to give creators more opportunities to earn money. The new notification option is similar to the Twitter notification feature that was introduced earlier this year.

The incentive features of Tik Tok and Twitter seem like a way for the company to compete with other digital platforms such as Instagram and YouTube. This provides content creators with an inexpensive way to make money.
