Oppo launches the Oppo Find N foldable phone

After Oppo unveiled its first foldable phone last week, Oppo Find N. Pete Lau, the company's product manager, said that the company has been developing this phone since 2018 and represents the end result of four years of research and development for the Oppo Find N. A model Sixth generation.

OPPO Find N introduces a new approach to the foldable model, providing an updated user experience for users who have used foldable devices in the past and for those who are new to foldable devices.

One major difference is that the company uses a standard aspect ratio, starting with 18:9 on the external screen and 8.4:9 on the internal screen (slightly narrower than square).

From this point of view, the Galaxy Z Fold 3's external screen aspect ratio is 25:9 while the aspect ratio of the Mi Mix Fold is 27:9. The Mate X is close to the normal mobile phone ratio of 19.5:9.

In addition, Oppo phones are smaller than the competition. The external screen of OPPO Find N is 5.49 inches and the internal screen is 7.1 inches.

OPPO Find N's flexible joints combine 136 components with a precision of 0.01mm to ensure that the joints work as smoothly as human joints.

The unique hinge design solves some of the biggest issues with foldable devices by extending the screen's fold angle and providing cushioning when the screen is folded, reducing kinks by 80% compared to other devices.

This design also virtually eliminates the space between screens when folded, providing a more integrated look and better protecting the internal screen from scratches.

Connectivity also enables a feature called FlexForm Mode. The hinge can essentially secure the two halves at any angle between 50° and 120°, so the phone can be used as a tripod for long video calls or time-lapse recordings.

The device has a dedicated 12-layer Serene display. It uses an extremely thin glass called flexural glass, which is much thinner than the competition: 0.03mm and 0.6mm. This makes it more flexible.

The Oppo foldable phone goes on sale on December 23

The main screen layer is LTPO AMOLED, and the refresh rate can be adjusted from 1 Hz to 120 Hz to suit the content you are watching. Touch sampling rate can reach 1000Hz.

OPPO has calibrated the color display and brightness of the indoor and outdoor displays. And its maximum brightness can reach 1000 lumens. But the luminosity index is 10240 degrees. This way you will find the perfect brightness in all lighting conditions.

The 5.49-inch external display is an AMOLED panel that is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. It has a resolution of 1972 x 988 pixels, and a standard refresh rate of 60 Hz. The internal screen has a resolution of 7.1 inches, 1920 x 1792 pixels, and a refresh rate of 1-120 Hz.

The Oppo Find N is powered by the Snapdragon 888, along with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The mobile supports normal multitasking gestures for screen sharing. Oppo allows you to swipe down with two fingers to split the screen, or you can use a four-finger touch to turn a full screen app into a floating window.

The transition between using the app on the external screen and switching to the internal screen (and vice versa) is as smooth as can be.

This phone has five cameras, three on the back and two for selfies (one for each screen). Foldable means you can also take selfies with the main camera.

Speaking of cameras, the wide-angle lens is equipped with a Sony IMX766 50MP sensor. It is connected to a 16MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 13MP telephoto lens.

The company shipped a 4500 mAh battery for this phone. It also supports 33W wired charging and 15W wireless charging (plus 10W reverse charging).

Oppo Find N will be listed in China on December 23. The 8/256 GB version is priced at $1,200 and the 12/512 GB version is priced at $1,410. However, at this time the company has no plans to launch the device in foreign markets.
