Combines power of 7200 rpm and precise power control
The Hitachi Ultrastar 7K3000 operates at 7200 rpm and provides better overall performance than lower RPM engines with very low power consumption. Compared to the previous generation Ultrastar 7K2000, the 7K2000 features a 155 percent increase in sustainable data rates and a 120 percent increase in watts per gigabyte.
Improve data security and integrity
To ensure maximum data security, the Ultrastar 7K2000 also offers the option of Batch Data Encryption (BDE). When enabled, Hitachi BDE implementation encrypts all data on the disk with a private security key that is written to the disk and then uses the key to decrypt the data when it is retrieved, providing users with the highest level of data protection.

Ultrastar 7K2000 is designed and tested to work. Hitachi's patented Rotational Vibration Protection Sensor (RVS) technology improves hard drive reliability in multi-disk RAID arrays and rack-mounted systems.
