Apple Watch detects symptoms of thyroid problems

A nursing student in Australia encouraged Apple Watch users to turn on heart rate notifications after a wearable feature helped her detect thyroid symptoms months before she was diagnosed.

Heart rate alerts from the Apple smartwatch have helped many people discover their heart problems and prompted them to seek more medical help.

A recent post on TikTok discovered that wearables can detect changes early which can become diagnosable months later.

On February 2, the nursing student told video viewers some of the key features of the Apple Watch that help her stay healthy.

It encourages Apple Watch subscribers to turn on notifications for low and high heart rates, arrhythmias, and heart levels.

The Sydney-based nursing student admits she should have activated the features sooner than she did.

She noted that had she done so, she would have found out about his condition sooner. She said she was diagnosed with thyroid disease a few weeks ago.

"Rather than waiting for my symptoms to get worse, it would have been better to see a doctor when such a significant drop occurred in a matter of days," she added.

Apple Watch detected problems months before it was diagnosed

Nursing students explained that there was a significant decrease. This means that your cardiovascular system is not working the way it used to.

I posted a screenshot of a graph from a health app showing low oxygen consumption. As the months went by, the levels kept dropping without us even realizing it.

This decrease has also been associated with other symptoms, including fatigue, sensitivity to heat, weight gain, dry skin, and irritability.

The student admitted that the watch was useful, although she did not use it for medical and health advice.

Since its release, the video has been viewed over 36,000 times on Tik Tok and garnered nearly 2,500 likes.
