WhatsApp is developing a community feature to give admins more control

WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is testing multiple features across Android, iOS, web and desktop. There are new and upcoming features such as communities, redesigned media selection, visual changes, and more.

Some of these features have been in development since last year but not yet officially released. However, WhatsApp is expected to roll out these features soon.

The rumor has been circulating in the WhatsApp community for quite some time. This new feature essentially brings your platform suite together in one place.

If you have several similar groups and you need to contact them at the same time, you can use the community feature to do so. You can send ads to all groups in the community.

The platform describes the feature as follows:

  •     Bring your groups together: add the groups you manage in one place for easy access.
  •     Call everyone at the same time: send notifications to all members and keep them informed.

WhatsApp Communities are the perfect place for group managers to have more control over the groups on the platform.

Communities are given a name and description like a popular group chat, and after entering a community name and description, users can link up to 10 groups in the community.

WhatsApp hopes to introduce community features in future updates

WhatsApp is also testing a new media converter that will make it easier to send multimedia after taking a photo via the app. The new feature shows recent section and gallery section.

All recent photos, videos, and GIFs in your gallery appear in the Recents section. The gallery section shows it all. A new media picker will appear when you take a photo with the in-app camera.

The platform currently displays a generic wallpaper when making voice calls through the app. But for now, test the ability to show your chat background when you make a voice call through the app. Although this is a small update. However, there may be visible changes in the application.

The platform may soon add two new styluses as drawing tools for editing photos and videos through the app. You have more editing options and a total of three pens. Another editing feature that may be available through the Android app is the ability to blur photos.
