3 ways to extend the battery life of your Apple Watch


Your Apple Watch can last up to 18 hours on a single charge, but if you find that your watch needs a charge first, there are a few things you can do to extend its battery life and get the most out of it.

1- Activate Low Consumption Mode:

Apple announced Power Saving Mode when it released the Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra, but it's available for all watches updated to watchOS 9. This mode helps extend the life of the watch and its battery to keep them running continuously. To activate it, follow these steps:

  • Open Control Center on your Apple Watch.
  • Tap on the battery percentage speech bubble icon and turn on Low Power Mode.
  • A screen with information about the effect of activating the mode appears. Scroll down and tap Open or Open with.
  • If you click on the Activate for option, you can choose Low Power Mode to stay on for 1, 2, or 3 days and once you activate it, a yellow circle symbol screen will appear at the top.

2- Activate focus mode:

Enabling sleep-related focus modes can help reduce battery drain throughout the night. Follow the steps below to enable it:

  • Go to Control Center on your Apple Watch.
  • Click on the crescent icon.
  • From the list of focus options, choose Sleep. You will then notice that the bed icon appears at the top of the clock screen.

Pressing your palm against the screen turns off the Apple Watch's screen, and just pressing it with your finger shows the time you set and the next alarm. To turn off focus mode associated with sleep and return to the normal screen, press and hold the watch screen for about three seconds.

3- Enable optimal battery charging:

Apple has added Optimized Battery Charging to extend battery life and reduce wear on your watch's battery. Optimized battery charging is turned on by default when you set up your Apple Watch with watchOS 7 or later, or after you upgrade your watch operating system to watchOS 7 or later. And make sure that this feature works on your watch; Follow these steps:

  • Open Settings on your Apple Watch.
  • Open the battery settings menu.
  • Click on the Battery Health option
  • Enable the Optimize battery charge option.
