This is a next generation WiFi system, version 6. Plug and play. You do not need to download any software to use it with your system. Its ability to manage up to 100 devices is incredible! The product listing says it can cover up to 2,000 square feet. That remains to be seen, but I use Linksys products so I'm inclined to believe it.
The product listing also states speeds of up to 3Gb/s. It took some time to convince my son, but I finally understood his point of view. No matter what it promises, it connects to your local network via a LAN cable, so its actual speed is limited by the speed of your LAN connection. If your local network is 1 Gigabit, your effective speed is 1 Gigabit or 100 Mbps. time period.
Setup is very easy! not bad! It only took a few minutes, but that doesn't include the time I later spent adjusting to my LAN environment. This is a mesh router. Having two or more can help you completely eliminate dead space in your home. Important to me because we have blind spots! The device streams 4K and UHD perfectly, which is great because we can stream everything avoiding the ridiculous costs of cable and satellite TV!
