Apple has removed some artificial intelligence apps from its App Store because they can generate nude images of a sexual nature.

The ability of generative AI to create images based on user commands has become an incredibly useful tool in photography and design. However, they can be misused to create fake or pornographic images.

According to media reports, Apple has become aware of the presence of a number of AI-based image creation apps in the App Store, which are advertised as being able to “create nude images without consent.”

The companies developing these apps rely on Instagram ads to promote offensive apps, claiming that they can "attract girls for free," and the ads contain links that direct users to the apps' pages, 404 Media reported. In the App Store.

The website reported that Apple did not initially respond to a request for comment, but responded immediately after the report was published and requested more information. Apple immediately removed three apps from the App Store after they were reported. This means that the company itself was unable to find apps that violated its policies and that the apps had already gone through the review process and their developers had not been banned.
