Google brings artificial intelligence to Android developers

Google continues to promote Gemini AI models in several products, announcing an upgrade to Studio Bot and launching Gemini Pro.

If you're an Android developer and use Android Studio, Studio Bot is probably your best friend.

Studio Bot is an AI chatbot built into Android Studio that is useful for people who want to develop apps efficiently.

At the company's annual developer event in May 2023, the search giant introduced Studio Bot, based on the PaLM-2 AI model.

Google is currently rolling out Gemini in Android Studio Jellyfish in over 180 countries.

Google has announced that the Studio Bot in Android Studio will be renamed Gemini.

In February, Google also updated its Bard chatbot model from PaLM-2 to Gemini Pro.

Gemini in Android Studio is based on the Gemini Pro template found in the IDE and allows developers to ask programming questions.

Gemini Pro is the most powerful publicly available AI model that supports Gemini Advanced.

According to Google, developers should see an improvement in the quality of their responses when it comes to completing code, debugging, finding relevant resources, and writing documentation.

Google says: For privacy reasons, users must log in and activate Gemini in Android Studio to use it.

Furthermore, chatbot responses mainly depend on the flow of the conversation and context provided by the developer.

The company says users can easily access Gemini's first API via Android Studio to add AI-based building capabilities to their apps.

Google seems determined to compete with tools like GitHub Copilot in various developer products.

Last year, Codey Assistant built on top of PaLM-2 was launched to answer questions about programming and its cloud services.
