eufy Expands European Smart Home Ecosystem with New 10-inch Smart Display

Berlin, June 11, 2025 – Anker’s smart home subsidiary eufy has officially launched its first dedicated smart display in Europe, the eufy Smart Display T8, targeting households seeking an all-in-one control hub for connected devices. The Android-based tablet, unveiled at IFA Berlin, enters a competitive market dominated by Amazon and Google but distinguishes itself with integrated privacy features and multi-protocol support.

Design and Core Features

The 10.1-inch HD touchscreen device boasts a minimalist bezel design with a magnetic backplate for wall mounting or tabletop use. Unlike basic smart speakers, the T8 combines voice assistance (Google Assistant) with visual feedback, allowing users to:

  • Control 6,000+ compatible smart devices (including Matter/Thread, Zigbee, and Wi-Fi gadgets)
  • Stream video via YouTube, Netflix, and Prime Video
  • Make video calls using the 8MP front camera with physical privacy shutter
  • Display calendars, weather, and photo galleries via customizable widgets

A standout feature is eufy’s "Local Mode," processing voice commands on-device without cloud dependency – addressing privacy concerns that have plagued rivals.

"This isn’t just another display; it’s a security-conscious command center," said eufy’s EU Product Lead, Lena Fischer. "Europeans value data sovereignty, so we’ve embedded encryption and local storage as defaults."

Pricing and Availability

Priced at €149.99, the T8 undercuts Google’s Nest Hub (€199) while offering a larger screen. It’s now available in Germany, France, Spain, and Benelux via eufy’s website and Amazon EU. Early adopters receive 3 months of eufy Security Cloud (normally €9.99/month) for video backup.

Market Context

According to GSMGoTech, eufy accelerated the T8’s European rollout after successful U.S. beta tests showed 89% user satisfaction for its "HomeGuard" feature – automatically turning the display into a security dashboard when smart sensors detect anomalies.

Analyst Take

"Eufy’s aggressive pricing and focus on privacy could disrupt the €1.2B European smart display segment," said tech analyst Marco Weiss. "But long-term success hinges on how well it integrates with non-eufy ecosystems like Apple HomeKit."

The T8 faces stiff competition from Amazon’s Echo Show 15, though eufy bets its cross-platform flexibility and no-subscription-required model will sway privacy-conscious buyers. A UK launch is expected in Q3 2025.
