Tired of Choosing Between a Power Bank and a Power Station? CorePlus Aims to Be the All-in-One Solution

We’ve all been there. Your phone is gasping for battery, but your massive, heavy power station is sitting at home because it’s a chore to carry. Or, you’re on the go with a sleek power bank, but you desperately need to plug in your laptop and realize you’re out of luck without its specific charging cable.

For years, the world of portable power has been divided into two distinct categories: the ultra-portable power bank and the mighty, but cumbersome, power station. A new project launching on Kickstarter, called CorePlus, is challenging that very dichotomy. It’s pitching itself as a hybrid device—a truly portable power bank that doesn’t force you to compromise, thanks to a full, traditional power outlet and a clever modular design.

Bridging the Gap in Portable Power

So, what exactly is the CorePlus? At its heart, it’s a power hub. The main unit contains all the ports and the crucial AC power outlet. What makes it revolutionary is what goes on the back: swappable battery modules. Instead of one fixed battery, the CorePlus is designed to be a continuous power source.

You simply snap a battery module onto the main unit, and you're ready to go. When that battery depletes, instead of stopping to recharge the entire system for hours, you can just snap in a fresh, pre-charged module and keep your devices running without a single interruption. It’s a system designed for uninterrupted workflow, whether you’re a digital nomad in a café, a filmmaker on a shoot, or a family on a road trip.

The Magic of Swappable Batteries

The CorePlus system supports two different battery module capacities: a compact 79.2Wh version and a larger 99.5Wh version. The smaller module measures about 5.5 x 4.7 x 1.2 inches, making it incredibly portable, while the larger one is just 0.8 inches taller.

This modular approach is the core of its "power station replacement" claim. To make the ecosystem complete, the company offers a special multi-module charger that can charge up to three or five battery modules simultaneously. Imagine finishing a work session, swapping your drained module for a fresh one, and then placing the used one on the multi-charger alongside others. You’ve effectively created your own endless power loop.

Power Where You Need It: 200W AC and a Suite of Ports

But what good is a swappable battery if it can’t power your gear? The CorePlus is no slouch in the output department. Its headline feature is the built-in AC power outlet, delivering 200 watts of power and supporting both 110 and 220 volts. While this isn’t enough to run a microwave or a coffee maker, it’s perfectly suited for the vast majority of personal electronics.

You can confidently charge a laptop using its standard power brick, run a small desk fan, or power a portable monitor. For direct device charging, it’s equally impressive. The USB-C port delivers a massive 140W, enough to charge a powerful laptop or fast-charge the latest smartphones. A USB-A port offers 18W, and there’s even a DC power outlet (12-25V, up to 5A) for specialized equipment. Rounding out the features are wireless Qi charging at up to 20W and a dedicated, faster 7W charger for an Apple Watch.

The project has generated significant excitement, and you can see all the details and support it on the official CorePlus Kickstarter page.

Availability and Pricing

For early backers, the CorePlus represents a significant value. The campaign offers a "CorePlus Pro Set" for a pledge of $119. The power bank main unit by itself was available for a remarkably low $79, but that tier has already sold out, indicating strong initial interest. If the campaign is successful, the company estimates that deliveries will begin to backers in February 2026.

The CorePlus isn’t just another power bank; it’s a rethinking of how we access power on the move. By blending the portability of a power bank with the functionality of a power outlet and the limitless potential of a modular system, it promises to be an indispensable tool for anyone who relies on their electronics away from a wall socket.
