The OnePlus 15R will feature a 165 Hz AMOLED display.

The global launch of the OnePlus 15R is still weeks away, but a fresh Geekbench leak has given us an early—and impressive—look at what to expect in terms of raw power. Although OnePlus isn’t set to officially unveil the device until December 17, performance figures for a model identified as CPH2767 have surfaced online, pointing toward a significant generational performance jump.

The listing, which you can view directly on the Geekbench search results page, shows scores that put the upcoming mid-range contender in a very competitive position—even against last year’s flagship.

Early Benchmarks Hint at a Performance Powerhouse

According to the benchmark entry, the device believed to be the global version of the OnePlus Ace 6T (a China-exclusive model) runs on Android 16 and was tested with 12 GB of RAM. If history is any guide, that 12 GB will likely be the base memory configuration, probably paired with 256 GB of storage—a combination that has become standard for OnePlus’s R-series devices.

The chipset driving these numbers is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, which helped the prototype achieve an average single-core score of 2,815 and a multi-core score of 9,552. While synthetic benchmarks don’t always translate directly to day-to-day experience, they do provide a clear snapshot of potential.

And that potential looks substantial. Compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 13R, these numbers represent a 27% boost in single-core performance and a massive 45% leap in multi-core performance.

Perhaps more surprisingly, the 15R’s multi-core score even edges out the OnePlus 13—last year’s flagship—by about 2%, while trailing in single-core performance by just 9%. For a device positioned in the more affordable “R” series, that’s a notable closing of the performance gap. You can check the current price of the OnePlus 13 on Amazon to see the value proposition taking shape.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 features Qualcomm's Adreno 829 GPU.

More Than Just Speed: Already-Confirmed Features

Performance isn’t the only area where the 15R seems to be pushing boundaries. OnePlus has already confirmed several flagship-grade features that will trickle down to this model:

  • 165 Hz AMOLED Display: Expect ultra-smooth scrolling and gameplay.
  • IP69K Rating: This goes beyond common water resistance, offering protection against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets and dust ingress—a rarity in smartphones.
  • In-house G2 Wi-Fi Chip: Designed to maximize connection stability and speed, addressing a common pain point for mobile users.

The combination of these features with the leaked performance data paints the picture of a highly capable all-rounder.

Leak Origins and Global Model Speculation

The benchmark data originated from the Geekbench browser, and the model number CPH2767 aligns with OnePlus’s global naming convention. Tech commentator Abhishek Yadav also highlighted the find on X (formerly Twitter), further fueling anticipation.

Traditionally, the “R” series serves as a global variant of China’s “Ace” line, offering similar core specs with potential tweaks to network bands or software. This leak strongly suggests the OnePlus 15R will be the international version of the Ace 6T.

What This Means for Buyers

If these early figures hold, the OnePlus 15R is shaping up to be one of the most compelling performance-per-dollar offerings of late 2024. It promises near-flagship-level multitasking and gaming prowess, paired with a ultra-smooth display and exceptional durability—all at a price point expected to be significantly lower than the mainline series.

Of course, benchmarks are just one piece of the puzzle. Real-world battery life, camera performance, software optimization, and the final price will be critical when the device is unveiled on December 17. But for now, the outlook for the OnePlus 15R appears exceptionally bright.
