If you’ve been eyeing up a practical, family-friendly electric cargo bike, Decathlon has just added a fresh new option to the mix. The sporting goods giant has quietly launched a third colorway for its popular Btwin F900E Electric Family Cargo Bike, giving eco-conscious parents and urban commuters a crisp, clean Polar White choice.
This new shade follows the initial taupe model that debuted in June 2024 and a vibrant yellow version that hit the market just a month later. The Polar White iteration is now available for purchase through Decathlon’s online stores in several European countries, including the Netherlands, Spain, and France, with prices typically ranging between €4,999.99 and €5,049.99.
For those familiar with the model, this isn’t a redesign but a stylish refresh. Beyond the new white paint job on the durable aluminum frame, the bike’s core specifications remain identical to its taupe and yellow siblings, which retail for a baseline of €4,999.99 in the EU.
So, what makes the F900E a standout in the family cargo bike segment?
At its heart is a robust Brose S Mag motor delivering 90 Nm of torque, providing ample power to tackle hills and city streets with ease. The motor offers pedal assistance up to the standard European limit of 25 km/h (about 16 mph) across three selectable modes. Power comes from a sizable 630 Wh integrated battery, which Decathlon claims can offer up to 80 km (approximately 50 miles) of range on a single charge. When it’s time to recharge, a full top-up takes around four hours.
Safety and control are paramount, especially when carrying precious cargo. The F900E is equipped with reliable 4-piston Tektro MH535 hydraulic disc brakes for confident stopping power. It rides on a combination of 20-inch front and 26-inch rear cargo bike tires, which provide stability and a smooth ride. Reflective strips on these tires add an extra layer of visibility for evening rides.
The bike’s defining feature is its spacious, low-mounted carrier. Designed to be easily accessed by children, it includes seating for three young passengers. Decathlon has thought of the practicalities, too, offering an optional protective rain cover and windshield to keep little ones dry and comfortable. The entire system, including the bike, rider, and cargo, can support an impressive maximum load of 184 kg (roughly 406 lbs).
Other thoughtful features include integrated headlights on the low step-through frame and a color display mounted on the stem. This display clearly shows your selected assistance mode, speed, and remaining battery level. Notably, the bike also comes with a built-in 4G/GPS unit. It’s worth mentioning, however, that active GPS tracking functionality requires a separate subscription.
Interested in seeing more details or making a purchase? You can find the new Polar White model directly on Decathlon's website, such as on their Dutch product page for the Elektrische Bakfiets F900 Family Wit.
For now, the release appears to be focused on mainland Europe. It remains to be seen if or when this stylish Polar White version of the Decathlon Btwin F900E will make its way to the UK market. For families in the EU, however, the choice for a versatile, capable, and now even more stylish electric cargo bike has just gotten a little brighter.
