Decathlon's Latest E-MTB: The New Stilus Off Road Hits European Markets with a Subtle Refresh

Decathlon’s new Stilus Off Road 29-inch Hardtail e-bike (pictured) is now available in Europe.

Outdoor retail giant Decathlon has quietly rolled out its latest electric mountain bike for the European market. The new Stilus Off Road 29-inch Hardtail Electric Mountain Bike is now available, serving as the brand's 2026 model-year offering for adventurous riders. A closer look reveals this update is more of a subtle evolution than a full revolution, with the core formula that made its predecessor popular remaining firmly intact.

Interestingly, the previous model, which launched across the EU in March 2025, has now been phased out from Decathlon's online stores, making this new version the sole Stilus Hardtail e-bike in the lineup.

What’s New? A Splash of Different Colour

For eagle-eyed fans of the brand, the most immediate change is aesthetic. The new model swaps out the light yellow "Stilus" branding found on the older bike's frame for a fresh, bold blue accent. This is the primary visual differentiator separating the 2026 bike from its 2025 sibling.

Beyond this colour swap on the downtube, the e-bike appears identical to its predecessor. The geometry, core component set, and performance specifications carry over directly, suggesting Decathlon is sticking with a proven winner.

Unchanged Performance: A Capable Hardtail Package

Where it counts, the Stilus Off Road Hardtail promises the same robust performance. Power comes from a mid-drive Star Union CM2502 motor, offering a hearty 410W of power and a substantial 110 Nm of torque, which is crucial for tackling steep, technical climbs. The motor provides assistance up to the standard European limit of 25 km/h (16 mph) across five different support modes, allowing riders to fine-tune their effort and battery consumption. A handy pedestrian mode also makes pushing the bike on foot a breeze.

The motor is paired with a 504 Wh integrated battery. Decathlon claims this setup can deliver up to 70 km (approximately 43 miles) of assisted range, though real-world results will, as always, depend on factors like terrain, rider weight, and the level of assistance used.

Built for the Trail: Reliable Mid-Tier Components

The Stilus is built around a lightweight aluminium frame, offered in three sizes (S, M/L, XL), with the medium size tipping the scales at 22.6 kg. It’s spec’d as a competent, reliable hardtail aimed at trail riding:

  • Drivetrain: A 9-speed Microshift Advent RD-M619M rear derailleur, known for its durability and crisp shifting.
  • Suspension: A Suntour XCM 32 fork with 120 mm of travel to smooth out roots and rocks.
  • Brakes: Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm rotors provide consistent, powerful stopping power.
  • Wheels & Tyres: It rolls on 29-inch wheels wrapped in sizable CST Patrol 2.40-inch tyres for confident traction.
  • Display: Riders can monitor their ride data and battery level on a Star Union colour TFT screen.

Pricing and Availability

The new Decathlon Stilus Off Road 29-inch Hardtail Electric Mountain Bike is now available for purchase in key European markets including Spain, France, and Italy. The retail price is set at €1,799.99.

This represents a €100 increase over the recommended retail price of the 2025 model, likely reflecting broader supply chain and manufacturing cost pressures seen across the industry.

The Verdict: A Familiar Friend with a New Look

For those who missed out on the 2025 model, the 2026 Decathlon Stilus Off Road Hardtail presents a compelling package. It retains all the well-considered features that made the original a value-oriented favourite: a powerful motor, a sensible battery range, and a solid component group from trusted brands like Microshift and Shimano.

The €100 price bump and the simple colour change mean this update is less about groundbreaking innovation and more about keeping a successful product fresh and available. For riders seeking a capable, no-nonsense electric hardtail from a reputable retailer, the new blue-accented Stilus remains a very strong contender.
