Like the standard model, the Pro is expected to feature a 5.46-inch display. However, while the base RG Vita is rumored to stick with a 1280 x 720 resolution, the Pro variant is set to leap to a crisp 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution.
For retro gamers, this is a massive deal. While 720p is perfectly adequate for PlayStation Portable (PSP) emulation and older systems, a 1080p screen on a 5.46-inch panel offers a much higher pixel density. This translates to buttery-smooth pixel art for 2D games and significantly sharper textures when upscaling PSP, Nintendo DS, or even early PlayStation 2 titles. The leak notes that the refresh rate will remain at 60Hz, which is the sweet spot for the vast library of classic games the device is designed to play.
