| PS Plus April 2026 Game Catalogue titles. |
If you’ve been holding off on buying a few big-name games over the past few weeks, your patience is about to pay off in a big way. Sony has officially pulled back the curtain on the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue additions for April 2026, and honestly? It’s a pretty stacked month.
Rumors started swirling earlier today when three titles surfaced online ahead of the formal announcement. As it turns out, those leaks were accurate – but Sony still had a few surprises up its sleeve. The full lineup brings a healthy mix of open-world racing, a remastered fan-favorite action RPG, sports management sims, chaotic indie sandboxes, and even a horror spin-off from one of gaming’s most beloved multiplayer franchises.
Here’s everything you need to know about what’s coming, when you can play it, and which tier you’ll need to have.
Wait, What’s the Difference Between Monthly Games and the Catalogue?
Before we dive into the list, a quick refresher. PlayStation Plus has two main types of “free” game offerings, and they work very differently.
The monthly games (the ones you get on the first Tuesday of each month) must be claimed during that specific window. Miss the deadline? They’re gone. The Game Catalogue, on the other hand, works more like a streaming library – games get added, stick around for months or even years, and eventually rotate out with advance notice. These additions are available to Extra and Premium members, with a few extras reserved for Premium subscribers.
That distinction matters here, because April’s additions are all about the long haul.
Full List of PS Plus Game Catalogue Additions – April 2026
Sony confirmed that eight games will join the service on April 21. Seven are available to Extra and Premium members, while one classic RPG is locked to the Premium tier. Here’s the complete lineup:
The Crew Motorfest (PS5, PS4)
Ubisoft’s open-world racer trades the mainland United States for a sun-soaked, Hawaii-inspired archipelago. You’ll tear through Honolulu city streets, rainforest trails, mountain roads, and even volcanic slopes. It’s less “serious sim” and more “car culture festival” – think hundreds of vehicles, themed events, and plenty of opportunities to cruise with friends. A solid get for racing fans who missed this one.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (PS5, PS4)
This is a big one. The original Horizon Zero Dawn was already a visual showcase on PS4, but this remastered version cranks everything up – improved lighting, higher-fidelity character models, faster load times, and full DualSense controller support on PS5. You’re still following Aloy, a young outcast hunter trying to uncover her past in a world overrun by robotic dinosaurs. If you somehow haven’t played this yet, April 21 is your excuse.
Important note: PS5 players get the Remastered version, while PS4 players will receive Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition (which includes The Frozen Wilds expansion).
Football Manager 26 Console (PS5)
Management sim enthusiasts, this one’s for you. This isn’t about dribbling or scoring – it’s about tactics, transfers, contract negotiations, and screaming at your assistant coach from the touchline. The 2026 edition adds fully licensed Premier League integration for the first time, plus upgraded matchday visuals and motion-captured animations. Deep, time-consuming, and oddly therapeutic.
Warriors: Abyss (PS5, PS4)
Koei Tecmo takes the classic “warriors” formula (think Dynasty Warriors) and filters it through a roguelite lens. You pick from over 100 heroes, summon allies, combine abilities, and tear through endless hordes of enemies in hell. It’s fast, chaotic, and perfect for short burst sessions – or losing an entire evening to “just one more run.”
Squirrel with a Gun (PS5)
Yes, that’s the actual title. No, it’s not a joke. This indie sandbox game puts you in control of a fuzzy little rodent who discovers firearms. You’ll shoot, platform, solve simple puzzles, and generally cause suburban chaos while hunting for golden acorns. It’s absurd, surprisingly creative, and exactly the kind of weird hidden gem the Game Catalogue was made for.
The Casting of Frank Stone (PS5)
From Supermassive Games (Until Dawn, The Quarry) comes a story-driven horror set in the Dead by Daylight universe. Frank Stone’s violent legacy has haunted the town of Cedar Hills for generations, and a group of young friends is about to learn just how deep that darkness runs. Every choice matters – characters live or die based on your decisions. If you like emotional gut-punches and genuine scares, this one will stick with you.
Monster Train (PS5)
A roguelike deckbuilder with a clever twist: you have to defend not one, but three vertical layers of your train simultaneously. Heaven’s forces are attacking, and you’re the last line of defense. With six monster clans, over 280 cards, and 25 difficulty levels, it’s got serious replayability. Slay the Spire fans, take note.

Wild Arms 4 – Premium Only (PS5, PS4)
Premium members get an extra treat: a modern port of the PS2 classic JRPG, Wild Arms 4. Set in a world still recovering from a brutal war, this one follows a new cast of characters on a journey across the scarred land of Filgaia. The new version includes up-rendered visuals, rewind functionality, quick saves, and custom video filters. A deep cut for RPG veterans, but a welcome one.
What’s Not Coming (But People Thought Might)
A few rumors floating around earlier this month suggested games like Returnal or Demon’s Souls might finally hit the catalogue. That didn’t happen. Sony’s April lineup leans more toward “strong variety” than “blockbuster bombshells” – but Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered alone is a heavyweight addition for anyone who skipped it the first time.
Is This a Good Month?
Short answer: yes, but it depends on your taste.
If you’re a racing or management sim fan, The Crew Motorfest and Football Manager 26 cover two very different niches well. Action RPG lovers get arguably the best version of Horizon Zero Dawn. Horror fans get a solid Supermassive entry. And if you just want something weird and funny, Squirrel with a Gun is worth the download for the sheer novelty.
The only potential downside? No massive day-one AAA release. But for a mid-April drop, this is a surprisingly deep and varied lineup.
When Can You Start Downloading?
All of these games go live on April 21, 2026. They’ll be available to download directly from the PlayStation Store’s PS Plus section. As always, catalogue games can leave the service eventually – Sony typically gives a few weeks’ notice before removals – so don’t sleep on something you’ve been meaning to play.
Bottom Line
April’s Game Catalogue additions won’t blow the doors off the gaming world, but they offer something for almost everyone. Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is the headliner. The Crew Motorfest and Football Manager 26 fill specific niches nicely. And Squirrel with a Gun plus Monster Train provide plenty of quirky, replayable fun for the right players.
If you’re already an Extra or Premium subscriber, this is an easy month to find something new to play. If you’ve been on the fence about upgrading from Essential? A lineup like this makes a pretty compelling argument.
Mark your calendars for April 21. Your backlog is about to get a little heavier.
