The upcoming smartwatch duo takes clear design cues from Apple’s Ultra lineup, but Huawei is packing its own high-end specs and sensors.
Huawei’s Watch Fit series has always walked a fine line between fitness tracking and lifestyle appeal. When the Watch Fit 4 series debuted back in May last year, many observers couldn’t help but notice the striking resemblance to the Apple Watch Ultra (buy Watch Ultra Series 3 on Amazon) – from the flat, rugged edges to the large, bright displays. Now, fresh leaks suggest Huawei is doubling down on that design philosophy with the upcoming Watch Fit 5 and Watch Fit 5 Pro.
According to a detailed report from German tech site Winfuture, unofficial renders and specifications for both models have surfaced, giving us our clearest look yet at what Huawei plans to launch in the coming weeks. And while the standard Fit 5 looks like a solid iterative upgrade, the Pro variant is shaping up to be a genuine Ultra competitor with titanium trim, sapphire glass, and advanced health sensors.
Huawei Watch Fit 5 vs. Fit 5 Pro: What the Leak Tells Us
Both smartwatches share the same rectangular, slightly ruggedised silhouette that has become the Fit series’ signature. But under the hood – and on the wrist – there are some notable differences.
Display and Build Quality
Huawei Watch Fit 5 (Standard)

- Brightness: Up to 2,500 nits (80% screen area)

The Pro model’s titanium bezel and sapphire glass are usually reserved for devices costing twice as much, so this could be Huawei’s way of undercutting the Apple Watch Ultra while offering comparable durability.
Battery Life and Charging
Both watches are rumoured to pack a 471 mAh battery. According to the leak:
- Up to 10 days with typical use (no always-on display)
- Up to 7 days with heavier use
- Up to 4 days with the always-on display enabled
That’s roughly in line with the previous generation, though the Pro’s larger and brighter screen may impact real-world longevity.
Sensors and Health Tracking
Huawei’s TruSense technology returns, bundling a comprehensive suite of sensors:
- Accelerometer and gravity sensor
- Optical heart rate sensor
- Body temperature sensor
- Magnetometer and barometer
- Ambient light sensor
The Watch Fit 5 Pro adds two exclusive features:
- ECG (electrocardiogram) function – a major addition for users monitoring heart health

Both watches are IP6X rated against dust, but only the Pro gets the full swim-proof treatment.

However, given that the Watch Fit 4 series was unveiled in May 2025, it’s highly likely that Huawei will follow a similar timeline this year. That means an official announcement could come within the next few weeks – possibly alongside new tablets or audio products.
First Impressions: A Worthy Apple Watch Ultra Alternative?
Huawei isn’t trying to hide the inspiration here. The flat edges, bright always-on display, and orange-accented Pro model are all reminiscent of Apple’s flagship wearable. But inspiration isn’t imitation – the Watch Fit 5 Pro brings genuinely useful extras like a depth sensor and ECG that even some premium wearables lack.
The standard Watch Fit 5 looks like a solid mid-range option for casual fitness users, while the Pro variant targets outdoor enthusiasts and health-conscious buyers who don’t want to spend €800 on an Ultra.
Of course, we’ll need to test battery life, GPS accuracy, and the TruSense heart rate monitor before passing final judgment. But if the leaked specs are accurate, Huawei may have just delivered one of the most compelling smartwatch duos of the year.
