Bentley has officially unveiled its first-ever production electric vehicle, and it's nothing short of spectacular. The Bentley Torcal made its global debut in London on September 23, 2026, marking a historic moment for the 107-year-old British luxury brand as it embraces an all-electric future.
A New Chapter in Bentley's Storied History
The Torcal represents Bentley's bold leap into electrification, joining the brand's lineup alongside its existing combustion and hybrid models. Built at the company's legendary Crewe facility in England, this electric SUV showcases what the future of ultra-luxury motoring looks like.

Impressive Performance That Doesn't Compromise
The range-topping Torcal S delivers a staggering 876 horsepower and 996 lb-ft of torque thanks to its dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. This translates to a 0-62 mph sprint in just 2.9 seconds—making it one of the quickest Bentleys ever produced.
Power comes from a 113 kWh usable battery that's built on the advanced 800-volt Premium Platform Electric (PPE), which Bentley co-developed with Porsche. This architecture enables the Torcal to achieve up to 373 miles of WLTP range, perfect for those long continental drives Bentley owners have come to expect.
Lightning-Fast Charging Capability
One of the Torcal's standout features is its 400 kW fast-charging capability. At a compatible charging station, the battery can go from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 16 minutes—barely enough time to enjoy a proper English tea. Just seven minutes of charging adds roughly 100 miles of range, making range anxiety a thing of the past.
Revolutionary Suspension Technology
To handle the substantial weight of an electric luxury SUV, Bentley engineers developed a fully active suspension system paired with rear-wheel steering for the first time in the brand's history. The adaptive twin-valve dampers can instantly raise or lower each corner independently, providing exceptional ride comfort while maintaining precise body control.
The system eliminates traditional anti-roll bars entirely, using reactive dampers to provide continuously variable counter-torque to reduce body roll. With rear-wheel steering offering up to 5 degrees of articulation, the Torcal achieves a remarkably tight 11.1-meter turning circle—impressive for a vehicle of its size.
Cutting-Edge Interior and Technology
Inside, the Torcal features curved OLED displays that largely replace traditional analog controls, marking a significant departure from Bentley's traditional interior design. The seats have been completely redesigned with 16-way power adjustment, heating, ventilation, and available massage functions that now extend to the seat cushion as well as the backrest.
Buyers can also opt for a 28-speaker, 1,780-watt Naim audio system with Dolby Atmos 7.1, kinesthetic seat shakers, and headrest speakers. Perhaps most intriguingly, Bentley developed a synthetic driving soundtrack using real instruments—including percussion, violas, and bass guitars—to create what they call the "Bentley Dynamic Symphony."
Sustainable Luxury Materials
The Torcal introduces several innovative sustainable materials. Working with Fox Brothers, a Somerset-based textile mill operating since the 18th century, Bentley developed the world's first automotive fabric made from 100 percent merino wool that meets durability requirements. The new Ombré Walnut by Mulliner uses up to 1,000 carefully selected layers of sustainable walnut remnants and recycled paper.
Market Positioning and Rivals
The Torcal will compete directly with the Rolls-Royce Spectre and Lotus Eletre in the ultra-luxury electric segment, while sharing much of its underlying technology with the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Electric. Two variants will be available at launch: the standard Torcal with 821 hp and the sportier Torcal S with 876 hp.
