Bigme has officially opened pre-orders for the HiBreak Dual 3, its latest E Ink smartphone with an optional detachable LCD. The company first showed off the device in late August, but it kept pricing and release details under wraps at the time. Now, both are finally available on Bigme’s official store, with shipping expected to begin between early and mid-November.
For anyone who has been waiting for a dual-screen E Ink phone that can also behave like a more conventional handset, the HiBreak Dual 3 is shaping up to be a niche but interesting option. It is not cheap, and it is not trying to compete with mainstream flagship phones. Instead, Bigme is targeting readers, note-takers, and users who want a phone that can switch between a paper-like display and a full-color LCD when needed.
Bigme HiBreak Dual 3 price and configurations
The HiBreak Dual 3 starts at $569. That entry price gets you the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage version with a black-and-white E Ink panel and no LCD module. If you want the detachable LCD, the price rises to $629. Adding the color E Ink panel costs another $20, which means the combination shown in Bigme’s product photos sells for $649.
The higher-end 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage tier follows a similar pattern. It starts at $689 and can go all the way up to $769 depending on the display options you choose. Bigme’s store also lists strikethrough prices as high as $1,229, but since the phone had no official price before this week, those crossed-out numbers should be treated as promotional reference points rather than a previous retail price.

Two displays, two very different experiences
The main display on the HiBreak Dual 3 measures 6.13 inches and uses E Ink technology. Bigme rates the panel at up to 85 FPS, which is notable for an E Ink screen, though real-world performance will depend on what you are doing. Resolution is 300 PPI in black and white, but it drops to 150 PPI when you switch to color mode. Stylus input works on this screen only, making it the primary canvas for note-taking and sketching.
The second display is a 5-inch LCD with a 720 x 1280 resolution. It attaches magnetically to the back of the phone and can be removed when you only need the E Ink side. Bigme used the same processor in the HiBreak Dual 2, so the new model should offer familiar performance for anyone upgrading from the previous generation. The phone ships with Android 16 and includes a TF card slot that supports cards up to 2 TB, which is a welcome addition for users who store a lot of books, documents, or media.
Connectivity is modern and broad. The HiBreak Dual 3 supports 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.3. Bigme has not listed a weight, and it is still unclear whether the 9.5 mm thickness figure includes the detachable LCD module. The HiBreak Dual 3 is clearly not a mass-market smartphone.
