Philips has quietly added another ultrawide to its Evnia range, and this one looks aimed squarely at gamers who want a big, fast panel without paying OLED money. The new Philips Evnia 34M2C5601QA is a 34-inch ultrawide monitor with a 3440 x 1440 resolution, a 200 Hz refresh rate, and a price tag of £299.99—roughly $405—making it one of the more interesting value options in its class.
Panel and image quality
At its core, the Evnia 34M2C5601QA uses a VA panel. That’s a deliberate trade-off: VA typically delivers deeper blacks and higher contrast than IPS, but viewing angles can suffer. Philips rates contrast at 4,000:1, which should give games and movies plenty of punch in a dim room. The 3440 x 1440 resolution works out to around 110 PPI. That’s fine for gaming, video, and everyday browsing, though people who spend all day staring at small text may prefer a sharper 4K or higher-density display.
Color coverage is listed at 98% sRGB and 90% DCI-P3. Those aren’t professional-grade figures, but they’re solid for a budget-focused gaming monitor, and most players will find the image plenty vibrant. For a mixed-use gaming setup, though, the feature set is hard to argue with at this price.

It’s a different kind of display—OLED, smaller, and not ultrawide—but it’s a strong option if you prioritize contrast and speed over screen width.
