Red Dead Redemption 2 players have been begging Rockstar Games for years to let them cross the border into Mexico, and now one dedicated modder has finally made that wish come true. A brand-new fan-made expansion called Nuevo Paraíso - The Forgotten Frontier has arrived on NexusMods, and it's giving PC players access to the Mexican territories that were previously locked away in the base game.
What Does the Mod Add?
Created by NexusMods user Rixus724, this ambitious project brings the iconic Nuevo Paraíso region from the original Red Dead Redemption into RDR2's 1907 setting. The expansion introduces three major territories to explore: Diez Coronas, Perdido, and Punta Orgullo. Fans of the first game will immediately recognize several restored settlements making their return, including Escalera, Chuparosa, Casa Madrugada, and Las Hermanas.
The mod doesn't just stop at geography. It also populates the region with new wildlife and vegetation to match the Mexican landscape, and even includes a working railway system that connects Nuevo Paraíso directly to New Austin. For players who love staying busy in the Wild West, there's no shortage of activities either—treasure hunts, bounty hunting, smuggling operations, train robberies, fort defence missions, taxi and stable jobs, gang hideouts, vendors, and plenty of Easter eggs are all part of the package.

As impressive as the scope of this project is, it's worth noting that the release isn't perfectly polished. Players have already reported various bugs and glitches while exploring the new content.
