Samsung’s stable One UI 9 update for the Galaxy S26 series has run into an unexpected scheduling snag. The software first began rolling out in South Korea a few days ago, but international Galaxy S26 owners are still waiting — and the timeline just became a little less clear.
Earlier, Samsung’s Thailand Newsroom had pointed to September 21 as the release date for the update in that market. That date has now come and gone. Instead of waking up to One UI 9, users in Thailand and other international markets are still watching for Samsung’s next move.
Samsung quietly changes the Galaxy S26 update plan
According to updated information spotted on the regional newsroom page, the Galaxy S26 series rollout has been pushed back by a full week to September 28. That would put Samsung’s latest flagship lineup on the same update schedule as the older Galaxy S25 series and the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which were already expected to receive One UI 9 on that date.

However, there’s another twist. At the time of writing, Samsung Thailand has removed any specific date from its original notice. The press release now only says the update will be released sometime within September.
