Xiaomi has officially launched its first heat pump washer-dryer in China, and it is aimed at households that want large-capacity laundry care without the usual energy waste. The new model is called the Mijia Washing Machine Delicate Wash Pro Supreme Edition Heat Pump Washer-Dryer 13kg. It comes with a recommended price of CNY 6,499, which is roughly $970, and it is already on sale through Xiaomi Youpin.
The machine is designed to handle a full load without taking up extra space. It can wash up to 13kg and dry up to 9kg, all inside a standard-size body. Instead of generating fresh heat for every drying cycle, its heat pump system reuses heat that is already circulating inside the machine. Xiaomi also includes a high-density, double-layer filter to catch lint and debris, helping keep the drying path cleaner over time. Users can choose from 35 wash and dry programs and 11 care programs, giving plenty of options for different fabrics and routines.

Xiaomi is making some bold claims about efficiency. According to the company, the heat pump uses 73% less electricity than a condenser washer-dryer. A dual-fan design is said to make drying 49% faster, while the top-mounted heat pump system reduces refrigerant flow resistance and improves heat exchange by 59%. For people who run laundry frequently, those numbers could matter as much as the wash capacity.

Super Electrolysis Washing and Sterilization
Washing on this model relies on Xiaomi’s super electrolysis technology, which first appeared on the Mijia Washer Dryer Set Pro in December. Xiaomi quotes a wash ratio of 1.3 and says the machine can remove 20 types of stubborn stains and whiten yellowed clothes in a single wash. It also claims that its cold-water electrolysis sterilization kills 99% of bacteria, a useful feature for families with children, pets, or allergy concerns.
Smart Care System Powered by AI
One of the more interesting additions is the care system, which is built on Xiaomi’s in-house algorithms and large language models. Instead of manually sorting through dozens of settings, users can describe the fabric, color, and stains of a load. The system then recommends a program and settings to match. The washer-dryer also connects to Xiaomi’s smart home ecosystem, so it can be controlled through the Xiaomi Home app and Xiaomi speakers. How It Compares to Xiaomi’s Previous Model
The launch follows the Mijia Washing Machine Pro 12kg, which Xiaomi released in January with a 12kg wash and 9kg dry capacity for CNY 3,528, or about $525. The new Delicate Wash Pro Supreme Edition adds 1kg of washing capacity while keeping the same drying capacity. That extra space could make a difference for larger households or anyone who regularly washes bulky items.
For now, Xiaomi has not said whether this heat pump washer-dryer will launch outside China. But for Chinese buyers, it represents the company’s biggest push yet into premium, energy-efficient laundry care, combining large capacity, smart automation, and advanced heat pump drying in one machine.
