Nintendo has quietly dropped a fresh batch of free custom designs for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players, and this time it's all about The Legend of Zelda's landmark 40th anniversary.
If you've been looking for an excuse to dust off your island and give your character a Hylian makeover, this is it. Nintendo of Japan announced on October 29, 2026—the same day its Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 hit store shelves—that two new Zelda-themed custom designs are now available to download in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
What's on Offer?
The two designs are the Triforce Tee, a dark shirt emblazoned with the iconic golden Triforce emblem, and the Korok Umbrella, a hexagonal canopy decorated with Korok illustrations in autumnal tan, beige, and dark green tones. Both are published under the creator name Nina, the resident of Nintendo's official Ninten Island who previously released Splatoon Raiders designs back in July.
According to Nintendo's official Japanese announcement, the items are designed with "autumn-appropriate colors"—a nice seasonal touch for players looking to refresh their in-game wardrobe.

How to Get the Designs
There are three ways to grab these freebies, and all of them require an active Nintendo Switch Online membership:
- Visit Ninten Island via dream using Dream Address DA-6382-1459-4417
- Search Nina's Creator ID at the Custom Designs Portal in the Able Sisters shop: MA-6818-1746-6029
Enter the individual design codes directly:
- Triforce Tee: MO-BJY7-XKPP-C724
- Korok Umbrella: MO-9FRX-HMW1-WXS6
The designs work in both the original Switch and Switch 2 versions of the game, so no one gets left behind.
More Zelda Goodness via amiibo
As Notebookcheck's Antony Muchiri reported, Nintendo also reminded players that a single Zelda amiibo unlocks the game's entire Zelda furniture and clothing collection. Tapping any figure from the series at the Nook Stop terminal in Resident Services opens up items like the Master Sword in its pedestal, heart containers, rupees, and outfits inspired by Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom—all purchasable with Bells through Nook Shopping.
Better yet, scanning a Zelda amiibo can invite Tulin, the young Rito warrior, or Mineru, the Zonai sage from Tears of the Kingdom, to visit your island at random. Players can even ask either of them to move in permanently.
Nina has apparently furnished her Ninten Island room with the full Zelda furniture set, so dream visitors can preview the pieces before committing their Bells.

Part of a Larger Anniversary Celebration
These designs are just a small piece of Nintendo's sprawling 40th-anniversary program for The Legend of Zelda, which was laid out during The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct on September 8, 2026. The celebration includes the aforementioned special edition Switch 2 (retailing at ¥62,980 in Japan with a matching Pro Controller and carrying case) and the highly anticipated Ocarina of Time remake, launching November 5 as a Switch 2 exclusive.
The Zelda furniture and villagers originally arrived in Animal Crossing's free version 3.0 update on January 15, 2026, which launched alongside the Switch 2 Edition of the game. That update brought 28 Zelda items, a resort hotel run by the Kapp'n family, decoratable Slumber Islands, and crossovers with Splatoon and LEGO. Owners of the original Switch version can upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition for $4.99.
Version 3.0 notably reversed Nintendo's 2021 stance that update 2.0 would be the final major free addition to New Horizons—a welcome surprise for a game that had already sold a staggering 50.29 million units by June 30, 2026, placing it behind only Mario Kart 8 Deluxe among Switch titles.
The Bottom Line
Whether you're a longtime island resident or someone who hasn't logged in since the big 3.0 update, these free Zelda designs are a charming way to celebrate four decades of one of gaming's most beloved franchises. And with the Ocarina of Time remake just around the corner, there's never been a better time to show off your Hylian pride—one Triforce Tee at a time.
Nintendo has not announced further content for Animal Crossing: New Horizons beyond this anniversary celebration.
