English Wikipedia makes a breakthrough and reveals a number of articles

Free Wikipedia today announced that it has achieved remarkable success that exceeds the number of articles in English, including more than 6 million articles.

"This feat has been accomplished nearly 19 years after the site was created and shows" what people can do together, "said Wikimedia Team Leader Ryan Merckley.

Six million articles deal with the 19th-century Canadian school, travel writer, and Maria Elise Turner Lauder. This article was written by Rosie Stephenson Goodnight, who has worked on Wikipedia for a long time.

Although Wikipedia supports multiple languages, English publications contain most of the articles. The English version (5 million articles at the end of 2015) was followed by the German version (about 2.3 million articles), followed by the French version (including 2.1 million articles).

The English version is also the most visited item on the site. According to published figures, the English version of the website can be accessed by approximately 255 million pages per day. According to similar websites by web analysts, Wikipedia is the eighth most visited site in the world.

Over the years, Wikipedia has organized seminars in many countries to encourage more people to write articles in their native language. The tools have also been improved to make editing, writing, publishing and citing easier.

When he founded Wikipedia, its founder (Jimmy Wales) said his goal was to provide "free access to all human knowledge." It is estimated that 104 million items are required for all human knowledge, and it may take another 20 years to achieve this.
