United States reduces war with Huawei

The U.S. Department of Commerce has issued a new rule that allows U.S. companies to work with Huawei in China to develop 5G standards and other advanced technologies, although transactions with manufacturers of telecommunications equipment are limited.

The change in the standard is intended to ensure that Huawei's ranking in the list of U.S. companies does not prevent US companies from contributing to the calibration process.

Reuters previously reported that the base has been approved by the U.S. Department of Commerce and other federal agencies and sent to the official publisher of the American Federal Newspaper Rules.

The base will be officially released on Thursday, and the base will review the list of Huawei companies that prevent the United States from selling products and technologies to the company.

For reasons of national security, the U.S. added Huawei to the list in May 2019.

The amendment approves the release of certain technologies for Huawei and its subsidiaries if they contribute to the revision or development of standards in standardized institutions.

The new regulations state that Huawei and its 114 foreign subsidiaries are still on the list of companies that participate in many of the major international normative organizations, which also include American companies.

US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross confirmed this development in a press release: International standards are the cornerstone of product development and help ensure product performance, interoperability, and security.

He added: "It is important for American technology leaders that American companies work in these institutions. To ensure that the proposed US standard is taken fully into account."

The statement stressed the need to address Huawei's growing problems (5G) and that the United States will not give up its position as a leader in global innovation.

Industry workers and U.S. government officials say the changes in Huawei's relationship should not be seen as a sign of the weakness of the United States, but only to alleviate the problems of emerging U.S. companies.

Since the technology that can be shared with Huawei has a degree of uncertainty, American companies have reduced their participation in standard activities (5G), which has had a major impact on Chinese companies in the process.

The new rules are a long-awaited step to clarify that US companies can join the International Organization for Standardization, even if there are companies listed.

In a statement, Huawei said it hoped to continue normative discussions with its peers, including its American counterparts, and added that a comprehensive and fruitful dialogue would better support its formulation and promote development.
