Amazon has officially announced the launch of its online pharmacy

Today (Tuesday) Amazon announced the launch of its drug distribution service (Amazon Pharmacy) in India for approximately three months.

The US e-commerce giant has launched a service (Amazon Pharmacy) in India to provide services to the southern city of Bangalore. This is the company's latest step in expanding its reach into key developing markets.

With the service (Amazon Pharmacy), US customers can now order home delivery services, including free drug delivery to Amazon Prime subscribers.

It is worth noting that after internal discussions in 2017 and the acquisition of PillPack in 2018, the company has quietly learned from its experience developing drugs over the past few years. Because the US pharmacy business is so complex and competitive, setting up (Amazon Pharmacy) depends in part on PillPack infrastructure, which includes: pharmacy plans, implementation centers, and the relationship to health plans.

I think (Amazon Pharmacy) is the company's largest payment to date in the $ 300 billion market and threatens the dominance of traditional pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens Walgreens. In addition to other major retailers that provide commercial pharmacy services, such as: (Wal-Mart) Wal-Mart.

After the launch of (Amazon Pharmacy), the market share of pharmacies decreased. The announcement came just in time for the company as Americans increasingly rely on mailing medicines to avoid potential exposure to the coronavirus. And this transition can be permanent as more people learn new ways of using drugs.

"We want to make it easier for people to get the medication, understand the cost, and bring it home," said TJ Parker, the company's vice president of pharmacies. "Working hard makes it easier ... and behind the scenes. There are many complications."

“We believe this new feature will add great value to our members,” said Jamil Ghani, Vice President of Amazon Prime. "It is important for people to strive for the comfort and safety of their homes," he added.
