Intel released the Iris Xe Max graphics chip

Intel introduced a new graphics chip (Iris Xe MAX) to enter the discrete graphics market.

The company built a chip for thin and light laptops based on Microarchitecture (Xe-LP).

The standalone graphics chips use the same microarchitecture as the Iris Xe graphics chip or the graphics chip integrated into the 11th generation Intel Core Mobile processor.

The chip maker announced Iris Xe graphics chip with the latest 11th generation portable processor on Intel Architecture Day.

The company is leveraging Deep Link technology as part of its support for Intel Adaptix and PCIe Gen 4 to meet emerging demands for thin and light laptops for content creation performance.

Deep Link technology uses a common software framework to improve performance such as video encoding and help the Intel processor and GPU work together seamlessly.

Intel said that thin and light laptops with independent third-party graphics chipsets rarely improve the processor.

Enable Deep Link (Dynamic Power Sharing) technology to allocate all power and heat resources to the processor when one GPU is idle, and increase processor performance at tasks by up to 20% more.

The new Iris Xe MAX graphics chip can also offer 1080p graphics in many popular games.

For gamers, Intel has also added two new features: Game Sharpness and Instant Game Adjustment, both of which are available through Intel Graphics Command Center.

The Intel Iris Xe MAX graphics chip is integrated with the new 11th generation Intel Core mobile processor and is supposed to provide additional artificial intelligence several times faster than laptops based on graphics chipsets from third-party providers.

Intel uses 11th Generation Intel Core i7-1165G7 processors with Intel Iris XeMAX and 10th Generation Intel Core i7-1065G7 processors with Nvidia GeForce MX350.

Compared to the graphics card used in desktop computers (Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080), the company offers (Hyper Encode) for faster encryption.

The new Iris Xe MAX graphics chip can be used with the latest 11th generation Intel Core Mobile processors.

The Acer Swift 3x, Asus VivoBook Flip TP470, and Dell Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1 will be the first three devices to use this new chip.

Intel is working with its partners to deliver Microarchitecture Discrete (Xe-LP) graphics to low-budget desktops in the first half of 2021.
