| Uber launched a booking service 30 days ago |
A new feature has been introduced with the transportation on demand (Uber) service that allows customers to book trips 30 days in advance. This service is called Uber Reserve.
It should be noted that this feature is not a new feature as Uber allows customers to arrange travel in 2016, and the competitive Lyft service allows customers to book travel seven days in advance. Now the feature has been renamed, driver-passenger communication has apparently been modified, and service charges have been increased to encourage drivers to accept these earlier reservations.
Usually, advance reservations are limited to car rental companies such as black car companies and luxury cars. In the past, Uber and Lyft said: These features are not essential as the vehicle can be called to your doorstep in about five minutes.

Starting this week, Uber Reserve is rolling out in 20 cities across the United States. Booking a scheduled trip is easier than it has been in the past. The itinerary can be booked at least 30 days in advance, but at least 2 hours ahead of the planned travel time.
In contrast to Uber's past practice, customers who use the reservation will be matched with the driver two hours before travel and billed in advance. In the past, Uber allowed customers to pre-book trips but it didn't match the driver until the specified travel time was at least 15 minutes in advance. If something goes wrong and the driver doesn't work properly, the customer will be given a $ 50 credit limit that can be used in the Uber app.
The initial price includes a service fee of $ 8-12, depending on the market. "These flights are clearly more expensive than the regular on-demand version," said Jeffrey Tam Scott, product manager at Uber. He added, "We try to provide passengers and drivers the best possible experience." These additional costs add to the fare and the road becomes more attractive to the driver.
Uber's business on demand has been hit by the coronavirus pandemic but is slowly recovering. The total number of bookings (i.e. money paid to drivers) in the transportation services industry decreased 50% year over year.
Uber believes the new backup service has benefits beyond commercial mobility. Tam Scott says it can be used to book trips to the doctor's office or grocery store when the crowd isn't popular.
