Google has introduced a lot of new features for Pixel devices, such as: contextual translation and improved home screen customization. Google has also introduced a new adaptive billing feature that seems tougher than one. I do not think so.
Adaptive charging is available for Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a, 5G, and Pixel 5 phones.
With adaptive charging, the battery's condition can be maintained for a long time by dynamically controlling the charging pixel speed. Simply plug in the phone at night and set an alarm for adaptive charging.
This feature charges your phone slowly overnight to keep the battery healthy for a period of time instead of charging it as quickly as possible as it will degrade the device's battery faster.
This feature will steadily charge the phone in a few hours instead of charging it as quickly as possible to reach 100%.
Since the device has not been used for a long time, you don't need to worry about how long it takes to fully charge.
However, the way this feature works can be somewhat limited for some users, as adaptive downloading has been shown to be effective only under certain settings.
According to the guides provided by Google, you must set a valid alarm between 5 AM and 10 AM for this feature to work properly.
You also need to put the phone on the charger after 9 PM otherwise the adaptive charging feature won't activate and the device will charge normally.
These conditions seem very specific, as they may not fit every schedule, especially night shift workers, and many Pixel users can sleep before 9 PM.
For comparison, Apple has a similar feature, Best Battery Charge, which can predict when an iOS device will be connected to the charger for a long time.
To save battery power, iPhone learns from your daily charging routine as the phone charges up to 80% and then waits until you need to use the remaining power.
