Microsoft announced a new cloud-based tool on Thursday that will help enterprise customers understand where data is distributed during operations and ensure they comply with privacy regulations.
After Microsoft became known for the Windows operating system and office applications (such as Office), it expanded to increase its influence on cloud computing with the goal of helping enterprise customers store and process large amounts of data.
Last year, the US software giant launched a tool called Azure Synapse, which uses tools like FedEx to analyze the daily traffic of 16 million software packages.

“The new tool is designed to help data protection and risk managers ensure their business complies with rules like the European Union's GDPR,” John Cherapurath, vice president of Azure Data and Artificial Intelligence, said in an interview with Reuters.
This new tool uses artificial intelligence to discover sensitive or organized data and can automatically mask the data by optimizing European customer data from sales reports sent to unauthorized US employees.
"Getting information from data is one thing, asking questions about the data itself is another," Sherapurath said. Example: Can we use the data? Or are we responsible for treating this data fairly? He added, "These terms appear to be esoteric, but they are essential to the work of modern companies. You should be able to trust your data."
