Carbon 1 MK II: the world's first carbon phone

German company Carbon Mobile announced the world's first carbon fiber Carbon 1 MK II smartphone, priced at € 800.

This means that the phone cover provides structural integrity without internal support, making it very light (125 grams) and thin (6.3 mm).

Although carbon fiber has all the excellent properties, it has major disadvantages when used in smartphones.

Carbon fiber blocks radio waves, which is why we rarely see them in action, but the company’s team has spent many years fixing and solving this problem.

HyRECM technology is the key to solving this problem. The technology has been developed for four years. This technology combines high-quality carbon fiber and composite materials to allow radio waves to pass through.

The company spent 3 hours making the blanket in 2017 but now it has simplified the process by just 30 minutes.

Although it is up to 6 times faster, experienced engineers have to cut materials manually and monitor the forging process.

Since the mono design has no internal frame, all components use the same carbon fiber connection.

Plastics make up less than 5% of the materials used to make cell phones, and any carbon cell phone can be dismantled and turned into raw materials.

Carbon 1 MK II has a 6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18: 9.

The screen is protected by the thinnest Gorilla Glass Victus at just 0.4mm.

The phone runs Android 10, but Android 11 updates will be released in the second quarter. Carbon Mobile is committed to providing software updates every two years and monthly security patches.

The Carbon 1 MK II is powered by the Helio P90 chipset, along with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

If you need more internal storage, the dual hybrid card slot can accommodate a microSD card.

There is a battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh that can be charged 50% in half an hour.

As for the camera, the device includes a 16-megapixel dual rear camera that seems to have the same focal length and f / 2.0 aperture, while the front end contains a 20-megapixel camera.

The phone does not support 5G networks, but it does support aptX HD, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, USB-C 3.1, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0.

There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, but there is NFC and a fingerprint reader on the side.

As a first step, the Carbon 1 MK II can be ordered immediately online from the company's official website and will be shipped later this month. The phone will be shown in regular stores in Germany within two weeks.
