| Apple plans to redesign AirPods in 2021 |
Apple is preparing to update its AirPods this year and the second generation AirPods Pro next year, according to Bloomberg's latest report.
The revamp of AirPods is the first product update since March 2019. It adds a new design that closely resembles the AirPods Pro.
The earplugs have new casing and short holes.
The second generation AirPods Pro will be launched next year, marking the first product change since October 2019.
It may include updated motion sensors with an emphasis on fitness tracking.
Apple's previous goal was to launch new AirPods Pro earlier this year.
The modernization of the wireless earbuds line has boosted the company's clothing, home, and accessories markets.
Today, annual sales in this market segment have exceeded $ 30 billion, or more than 10% of total sales.
Apple launched AirPods Max in December. This $ 549 headphone has been criticized for its flaws and high prices, and its materials and sound have also been praised.
Apple recently picked up demand for this product. Although there are plans to bring a variety of other colors to the market in the future, Apple has yet to develop the second generation AirPods Max.
New Apple devices:
As part of its expanding strategy for family, audio, and accessories, Apple has also begun early development of HomePod speakers with built-in displays, as well as devices that combine the features of HomePod, FaceTime cameras, and Apple TV.
Apple released the HomePod mini last year and it fixed a minor update for the Apple TV last month.
For the new AirPods Pro, Apple also tested a smaller design that removes the valve stem.
This model may debut on the new Beats wireless headphones that will be announced next month.
The next AirPods Pro could drop their legs completely, Bloomberg said in a report early last year.
She explained that the new, smaller design could be similar to Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus or Google Pixel Buds.
She noted that design challenges mean that plans can be changed. The latest report says: Apple tested the design and there appears to be no guarantee that it will appear in the final prototype.
