iPhone 13 can increase battery capacity

Apple's iPhone 13 series phones are expected to have a larger battery capacity this year, according to a new report from trusted speaker L0vetodream.

This is coupled with the expectation that the iPhone 13 series phones will add new features that consume more power, such as the ProMotion display.

The following iPhone series could include some models, such as ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro and ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro Max, which provide up to 1TB of internal storage.

In addition, Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives said in an investor report that all models should be equipped with LiDAR sensors.

The LiDAR application is restricted in its current form. They are only used for low light and augmented reality photography.

In recent years, Apple has paid more attention to augmented reality. Expanding the LiDAR system to all iPhone models could be part of Apple's plan to promote augmented reality and the technology behind it.

According to Leaker Lovetodream, here are the battery stats for the iPhone 13 series compared to the current capacity of the iPhone 12:

  •     iPhone 12 Mini 2227 mAh.
  •     iPhone 13 mini 2406 mAh (8% increase).
  •     iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro with a power of 2815 mAh.
  •     iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro 3090 mAh (an increase of 9.9%).
  •     iPhone 12 Pro Max 3687 mAh.
  •     iPhone 13 Pro Max 4352mAh (18% increase).

It is reported that this is not the first time that we have heard that the iPhone 13 series may have a larger battery in it.

Trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported in March that the new series has larger batteries, making each model heavier than its predecessor.

iPhone 13 rumors:

Apple will introduce new space-saving designs, such as integrating a SIM card slot into the motherboard.

There are also some factors to consider because battery size itself is not always a very useful indicator of iPhone battery life.

For example, the iPhone 12 series consumes more power than previous iPhones because a 5G connection can drain the battery quickly.

There are rumors that the new iPhone series will support ProMotion display technology and an always-on display, both of which may increase battery usage this year.

But the catch is that the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max use the new LTPO display technology to power the ProMotion display.

The combination of energy-efficient LTPO displays and increased battery size could extend battery life this year.

Previous reports suggest that Samsung and LG have already started making OLED panels for mobile phones, with Samsung allegedly making ProMotion displays with a refresh rate of 120Hz for the Pro models.

Both companies started production early last year at Apple's request. This time around a month before the iPhone 12 production date, but the schedule at that time has been pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The May report stated that TSMC has started production of the A15 processor, which will be used in the next generation of the iPhone production line.

Other rumors suggest that the range of new products is a bit thicker than the previous model. The original front camera has a smaller notch and the rear camera has a larger notch.

Migrating from iPhones to LTPO enabled it to deliver a refresh rate of 120Hz without significantly affecting battery life.

ProMotion has been part of the iPad Pro lineup since 2017, but due to the use of OLED technology, that wasn't the case with the iPhone.
