Samsung is one of the best smartphone sellers in the world

According to a report published by market research firm Gartner on Monday, Samsung has a wide range of mobile phones on offer in the first quarter of this year.

The three largest global smartphone providers held their positions in the first quarter of 2021.

This South Korean company occupies more than 20% of the smartphone market and has sold more than 76.5 million mobile phones.

This number matches the figure reported by market research firm Canalys in April.

Gartner believes that cheaper phones and Samsung's flagship 5G phones will fuel growth.

The introduction of mid-range smartphones (such as those under $150) boosted Samsung's global sales.

The first shipments of its flagship 5G smartphones fueled Samsung's smartphone sales growth.

Apple returned to second place in the first quarter of 2021 and climbed to number one in the last quarter of 2020.

The launch of the first iPhone to support 5G networks led to continued demand in 2021. Apple's market share is 15.5%. Mobile phone sales exceeded 58.5 million.

Chinese mobile phone manufacturers Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo occupied the top five places with 48.9 million, 38.7 million and 38.3 million units sold, respectively.

Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are seeing a growing demand for 5G smartphones. Benefited from weak global sales from Huawei and LG this quarter.

Samsung is on the list:

Gartner says 5G will continue to be the main driver of Apple's growth in 2021, and hardware upgrades have increased demand for Apple's flagship phones throughout the year.

After a sharp decline in 2020, global smartphone sales grew 26% worldwide in the first quarter of 2021, a 22% increase year-over-year.

Improved consumer perception, life-long learning and work-from-home, and backlog in 2020 boosted smartphone sales in the first quarter.

As the pandemic situation improves in many parts of the world and markets open up, consumers are beginning to spend money on freely available items.

However, what is certain is that the comparative basis for 2020 is also lower than 2019, which also explains the double-digit growth.

In 2020, the top five smartphone providers experienced strong year-over-year growth. This shows that the mobile market is recovering around the top 5 providers.

Due to the balance between supply and demand, the scarcity of global chips has not yet affected the smartphone industry.

However, that could change in the next few quarters. This could increase the average retail price of smartphones around the world.
