Tesla has officially discontinued the Model S Plaid Plus

Tesla has canceled the more expensive version of its flagship Model S Plaid Plus sedan, according to a tweet from CEO Elon Musk.

Musk had previously promised car enthusiasts that the new three-engined version of the S Plaid Plus would give drivers 1,100 horsepower, drive 835 kilometers on a fully charged battery, and go from 0 hours in less than two seconds. .

"Plaid Plus has been canceled," Musk wrote on Twitter, which has more than 50 million followers. No, because one network is enough.

In March of this year, Tesla raised the price of the Model S Plaid Plus from $10,000 to about $150,000.

The ability to order a copy of the Model S Plaid Plus was removed from the Tesla website in the last week of May.

The remaining top version of the Model S Plaid costs $119,900, with a battery range of 630 km, an output of 1,020 hp, an acceleration time of 0-100 km/h in two seconds and other features.

Musk had previously planned to hold a delivery party for the Patterned Model S at Tesla's factory in Fremont, California on June 3.

As the date neared, he pushed it back to June 10, saying the car would take another week to adjust.

Like other North American automakers, Tesla has worked hard to address supply chain issues, particularly the lack of computer chips.

The company did not produce any more expensive Model S or Model X models in the first quarter of 2021, although Musk said production is continuing in its fourth-quarter 2020 earnings report.

He also talked about the technical challenges in development and how new versions of the Model S and X could be created.

He said the challenges in developing the Plaid Model S or Paladium are greater than expected. It's a remake of the S and X models with an improved interior, new batteries, new drive units, new interior electronics and a reconfiguration of advanced infotainment systems.

The company has raised prices for its 3 and Y models several times this year.

Musk also blamed supply chain problems for the price hike. Tweeted May 31: Prices are rising due to industry-wide price pressure in the supply chain.
