| Microsoft has introduced support for Dolby Vision games on its platform |
Microsoft has introduced support for Dolby Vision games for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and we've been testing this feature since May. It will be used in more than 100 HDR games in the future.
Although Xbox consoles have supported HDR10 for many years, Dolby Vision games first appeared on Xbox and supported dynamic metadata.
According to Microsoft, this should result in brighter highlights, sharper contrast, and brighter colors.
She added, "There are over 100 next-generation HDR games optimized for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S platforms that include Dolby Vision. In the future, you'll see more people like Halo Infinite take full advantage of Dolby Vision. .game."
According to the listing on the Xbox website, it will support about 10 Dolby Vision games at launch. But the company has promised to improve more than 100 games soon.
Microsoft and Dolby work together
F1 2021, Psychonauts 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Gears 5, Borderlands 3, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Guardians of the Galaxy, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, DIRT 5, Metro Exodus, including Dolby Vision support.
The company is also working with Dolby to bring some of the benefits of Dolby Vision to existing HDR10 and Auto HDR games. Microsoft introduces new visual enhancements that use Dolby Vision technology to deliver an improved visual experience for thousands of existing HDR10 and Auto HDR games.
Developers can integrate Dolby Vision into their game engine or use Dolby Vision technology built into the Xbox development platform.
It should be noted that games that use Auto HDR are not real Dolby Vision games. However, the software giant said it uses Dolby Vision technology. It's all about planning across Xbox to display more accurate visuals on Dolby Vision TV.
You must have a compatible Dolby Vision TV to take advantage of this new feature on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S platforms. The company also recommends enabling low latency ALLM automatic mode. Dolby Vision is compatible with ALLM, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and 120Hz gaming.
